Toys for a Himalayan Siamese need to stay small and interesting for playtime. Any toy light and small enough that the Himalayan Siamese can carry around is fine for playtime. Owners may use an herb called catnip along with the toys to entice the Himalayan Siamese into playing with certain toys if they wish. Toys made to look like mice, small furry round balls, toys shaped like other animals like cats, bears, dogs, or even balls and toys with bells inside all make excellent toys for the Himalayan Siamese to play with.
Catnip- an herb catnip has an intoxicating effect on cats hence the name Cat-nip. It is fine to use catnip to help entice your Himalayan Siamese into playing. When the cat inhales the aroma from the catnip, it triggers parts of the cats' brain that affect the cats' moods. Catnip relaxes the cat and gives some cats energy burst. On the other hand, some cats react very different and will lie on the catnip or rub against the catnip and nap.
Some toys now have small Velcro openings where owners can place a small amount of catnip inside the toys. This entices the Himalayan Siamese to play with the toy more. If the cat is prone to just laying around the house the cat needs encouragement to play. If the cat does not play regularly, he or she could become overweight and inactive this is not good for any Himalayan Siamese however, this is usually not a problem. The Himalayan will most likely love the toys and play often.
A few words of caution for owners try to encourage play without the use of the catnip. Catnip does have an intoxicating affect on cats. Therefore, a cat may have a bad reaction to catnip. The catnip could cause your cat to be angry instead of the happy affect it usually has on most cats. If you're Himalayan Siamese does have a bad reaction stop using the catnip the affect will wear off soon. The cat will return to normal.
Your Himalayan Siamese will most likely have a favorite toy he or she will play with or cling to out of all the toys he or she has. When an owner notices what toy, the Himalayan Siamese plays with the most it might be a good ideal for the owner to purchase one or two more of the same toy.
This way should the favorite toy wear out or lost the Himalayan Siamese will still have its favorite toy and not become stressed.
Keep several different toys for your Himalayan Siamese to play with placed in a small box or container by your pets' bed. Let the Himalayan Siamese put his or her toys where it wants them. If the toys all end up in the Himalayan Siamese bed, leave them there. However if the toys are strung through the home then you may put them back into the box by the pets bed.
This way toys do not become a hazard for humans to trip on.
